Marianske Lazne (or Marianske Lazne) is one of the famous European balneotherapeutic resorts. Back in the 19th century, an uninhabited swampy place where about a hundred healing springs were found turned into the resort town of Marienbad. The old town has retained its charm to this day: the silhouettes of its roofs seem to echo the silhouettes of fir trees against the sky, and the bright colors of the facades add color to cloudy days. Once upon a time, members of royal families recovered their health here, and now it is a popular place for family holidays: some sanatoriums in Marianske Lazne specialize in the treatment of childhood diseases.
